Church festival season is starting to wind down (though it’s kind of hard to notice since Oktoberfest Season is in full swing), but one is coming up next weekend (September 6th – 8th, 2013) that’s definitely worth a mention. St. Saviour Parish’s Festival 2013 is going to feature a number of local beers. According to Darrell Williams, the festival’s beer organizer, the plan is to have $2 beers from Rivertown, Christian Moerlein and Weidemann. They also plan to have what they’re calling a “Retro Beer Tent” that will feature beers like PBR, Burger, Little Kings and the like.
St. Saviour Parish is located at 4136 Myrtle Avenue in Cincinnati near the intersection of Plainfield and Myrtle north of E. Gailbraith. The hours for the festival are 6pm to midnight on Friday, Sept. 6; 5pm to midnight on Saturday the 7th and 5pm to 9pm on Sunday the 8th. You can get more information at their website or by calling the church at 513-791-9004. But be serious. It’s a church festival in Cincinnati. What else do you need to know?
A special thanks to Darrell for reaching out to us and letting us know about this event. Church festivals are notorious for having limited selections of interchangeable beers that come from the macros. Good to see this festival breaking the mold a bit. If you’re involved with an event that will be featuring local or craft beers, you can always let us know via our contact form.
