Arnold’s to Host “Posters & Prayers” Benefit – Sept. 19th

A benefit for a worthy cause with a great better beer element (see below in bold).

Posters & Prayers

CINCINNATI (Sept. 10, 2013) – “We need Mike Amann.” That’s the rallying cry of the international art and design community as it plans a fundraising event for the local 33 year-old who is battling stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer. The event takes place the evening of Thursday, Sept. 19 at Arnold’s Bar and Grill in downtown Cincinnati and will feature signed and numbered prints from local, national and international artists, designers, illustrators and photographers in “mystery tubes” for a $20 donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Amann Family. In addition, Arnold’s will donate 20% of the night’s food and beverage sales.

“This community needs Mike. He not only brings international contemporary art to public spaces in the area, but he brings inspiration, innovation, creativity and friendship to the entire art and design community as a whole. We want to show him and his family just how much we need him and support him,” states Keith Neltner, founder of Neltner Small Batch creative firm.

The event at Arnold’s starts at 6 p.m. and will feature live music from Todd Lipscomb of The Kentucky Struts from 6-7 and Dottie Warner and Wayne Shannon from 7:30-9:30, A specially-brewed, one off, one of a kind sixth barrel keg of Corsair Whiskey Barrel Aged Pumpkin Ale from Listermann Brewing Company and a special “yarn bombing” by The Bombshells. Design and branding firms like Landor, LPK, PROCLAMATION, Neltner Small Batch and more are helping support and organize the event, along with the “Posters & Prayers” Facebook group.

Mike Amann is the founder of BLDG, a Covington-based art gallery and branding & design firm. He is responsible for bringing international, urban contemporary artists, like Vhils, The London Police and Prefab77, to the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas to create murals on the sides of buildings throughout town. Most recently in August, The London Police painted over 10 murals in areas throughout the region, including one at CVG Airport. Mr. Amann also recently directed the graphic design of the LIVESTRONG Annual Report. He lives in Ludlow, KY, with his wife, Lesley, and their 8-month old son, Kaizer.
