● At this week’s Cork ‘N Bottle beer tastings, they will feature at Covington: On the Growler System Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold, Goose Island Harvest Ale, Schlafly Pale Ale and Rouge Double Dead Guy. In Bottles Friday for the tasting, Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Ale and Duvel Belgian Golden Ale. In Bottles Saturday for tasting, Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout and Kastell Rouge. At the Buttermilk Pike location, on the Growler System is Goose Island 312 (It’s almost out and will be replaced by Schlafly Saison), New Holland Imperial Hatter, Founders Breakfast Stout and Goose Island Matilda. In bottles for their tastings will be Wychwood Wychcraft, Hobgoblin and Monty Python Holy Ail. The tastings at both locations are from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Fridays and from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Saturdays. Cost is $1 for 6 to 8 beers.
● At this week’s Friday Night Flights at Party Town in Florence, they will be featuring Brooklyn Brewery including the celebrated Black Chocolate Stout. Remember that the cost is $2 for a full flight of beers and it goes from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.
● UPDATE Liquor Direct has changed its name to D.E.P.’s Fine Wine and Spirits. The beer tasting today at their Fort Thomas location features beer from Great Divide. The tasting goes from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
● On the Growler Station at Party Town in Florence: Rye 75 Rye IPA, Breckenridge Porter Porter, Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald, Bell’s Oberon, Breckenridge Luck U IPA, and another beer TBA.
● On the Growler Station at Party Source in Bellevue: Anchor Porter, Great Lake Dortmunder Gold, Goose Island Night Stalker, Founders Curmudgeon, Clipper City Peg Leg, Great Lakes Nosferatu, Bell’s Oberon, Dogfish Head Punkin
● And while you’re enjoying your tastings (or whatever you bring home), raise a toast to Vermont’s little-brewery-that-could, Rock Art Brewery. They’ve reached an agreement with those energy drink people that will allow them to continue to sell their barleywine under the most-excellent name “Vermonster.” Congratulations to them!
