Tastings and Tappings Report: August 7, 2015

We frequently get updates for our Tastings and Tappings Report after our regular publishing time. Any edited listing will have UPDATE at the beginning of the listing. Don’t forget to check out our This Week in Beer post from Monday for other better beer events happening this weekend.

TASTINGS

Everything’s d’ Vine – Tasting is at 5:30 pm each week and costs $10 for beer and wine tastings. You can get just beer or just wine for $5.00. The beers for this week’s tasting (8/7) are Ace Perry Cider; Anderson Valley The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose; Rhinegiest Fool and Harpoon IPA.

Jungle Jim’s Eastgate – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (8/7), it’s West Sixth. Pints are usually $3.

Jungle Jim’s Fairfield – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (8/7), it’s SweetWater. Pints are usually $3.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week (8/7) from 5:30-7:00 pm, it’s beers from Carson’s from Evansville. Beers include Oud Bovine Barrel Aged Sour Red/Brown, Demonik Imperial IPA, Eville American Wheat, Harlot Golden/Blonde Ale, Purgatory American IPA as well as thier line of available bottles. Draft by the glass will be $4.00 for a nine ounce pour. The first 72 people to purchase a ticket for a nine ounce draft pour will receive a free Carson’s Brewery pint glass. The cost for the flight is $2.00 per person. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

TAPPINGS

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight (7/31) is Free Bacon Night AND they will be tapping Three Floyds Yum Yum. Cost is $5 for a sixteen ounce pint.

Next Tuesday Sept. 24th we will be featuring five great Bell’s beers, along with TWO special guests: Greg Pelch, Bell’s Brewery Midwestern Manager; and James Pnut Kahles, Dilly Beer Ambassador Emeritus! Peanut was with Dilly almost 20 years, and helped establish us as one of the first and best craft beer destinations in the city. Join us in hoisting a few pints, and thanking him for his service to beer, and Dilly!
There will be a generous Peanut-ized buffet available for just $10 (optional, you can also order off the menu if desired). On tap we will have:
– Bell’s Oktoberfest (rare!)
– Bell’s Best Brown
– Bell’s Two Hearted Ale
– FROM FIRKIN Dry Hopped Two Hearted
– AND Bell’s Hopsolution DIPA

Wednesday, Sept. 25th – Select Craft Beers for $2 at Molly Malone’s Covington

First pint is $5 – Keep the glass and get refills for only $3.

Wednesday, Sept. 25th – Wiede Wednesday at Pompilio’s
Every Wednesday is Wiede Wednesday at Pompilio’s in Newport with $3 Wiedemann pints all day.

This week’s pairing is Sours from Rivertown and an “European surprise”; Ciders from Fox Barrel, Crispin & Angry Orchard and Stouts from Samuel Smith and Evil Twin paired with burgers provided by Slow Food Cincinnati.

Thursday, Sept. 26th at 6:00-10:00 pm – Pint Night Thursdays at Cock & Bull (all three locations)
The beers for this week’s Pint Night Thursdays are: Main Strasse Covington – Left Hand Oktoberfest, Glendale – Warsteiner Oktoberfest and Hyde Park – Three Floyds Munsterfest.

We will be TAPPING Founders KBS and Double Trouble, Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree, and Bell’s Hell Hath No Furry at 5pm AND From 5-6:30, all guests will receive a lottery ticket for the opportunity to purchase, bottles of Bell’s Black Note, Founders Hand of Doom and Founders KBS, as well as a few other gems. He will also talk about the state of the craft beer industry and how it has evolved over the past 15 years. The presentation will be held in our biergarten. Cost is $15 + tax, and includes one beer ticket for a Founders brew, and a light appetizer buffet.
