Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, they are pouring beers from New Holland at Fairfield.

Party Source – $1 beer tastings on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, they’re pouring from a brewery yet to be named. It’s $2.00 for the regular sample flights. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

TAPPINGS, PINT NIGHTS and RELEASES

BC’s Bottle Lodge – Bear Republic Launch Party Saturday at 4:00 pm. Beers include Short Shifter Hoppy Lager, Double Aught Pils, Rogue Red Sour, Racer 5 and The Grizz.

Braxton Brewing – Spotlight Tapping and Can Release at Braxton Brewing Friday at 5:00 pm.

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night and they will be pouring from partial kegs from the Shelton Brothers Festival in Louisville. Beers include 7venth Sun Yuzu Lager, 7venth Sun Barrel-Aged La Fete, Nogne O Chaga Stout, Pasteur Street Barleywine, Boneyard RPM IPA, and Boneyard Hu Tong Clan.

Listermann Brewing – Barrel Aged Stuff Release Saturday at 10:00 am.
Beers available for the release include BA Stuff, Stuff, Stuff Nitro, BA German Cake Aftermath and possibly one or two more.

Urban Artifact – Thoroughbred Variant Bottle Release Saturday at noon. They will be releasing the first 5 of 7 total cocktail variants of Thoroughbred. The bottles will retail for $15.99 plus tax and the 5 variants are: The Deveraux – Lemon zest and elderflowers; Corpse Reviver – Juniper berries, lemon zest, orange zest and grape must; King Cake Old Fashioned – Pecans, walnuts, cinnamon and vanilla beans; Kentucky Mule – Lime and ginger; and Mint Julep – Spearmint and vanilla beans.

Tastings and Tappings Report: March 20, 2015

TASTINGS

Everything’s d’ Vine – Tasting is at 5:30 pm each week and costs $10 for beer and wine tastings. You can get just beer or just wine for $5.00. For this week’s tasting (3/20), it’s Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat, West Sixth Bryan Ave Belgian Blonde, Sixpoint Abigale and Boulevard The Calling IPA.

Jungle Jim’s Eastgate – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (3/20), it’s Listermann. Pints are usually $3.

Jungle Jim’s Fairfield – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (3/20), it’s MadTree. Pints are usually $3.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week (3/20), it’s Rhinegeist. Beers include Pandamonium, Gramps, Powder and Saber Tooth (all on draft) plus their entire line of canned beers. Draft prices will be posted at the event. The first 96 people to purchase draft by the glass will receive a complimentary Rhinegeist pint glass. Cost is $2.00 per person. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six delicious bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

TAPPINGS

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight (3/20) is Artswave Free Bacon Night and they will tapping Jolly Pumpkin Saison X. A portion of the proceeds from sales of all Ei8ht Ball Brewing beers sold that day will be donated to ArtsWave.

– Tomorrow (Saturday, 3/21) their Saturday infusion is Uinta Detour Run through a Randall of grapefruit. Cost is $6 for a 10 ounce snifter. They will also be tapping Rhinegeist Saber Tooth Tiger at 2:00 pm. Cost is $5 for a 10 ounce snifter.

– For next week’s Rare Keg Monday (3/23), it’s Hoppin’ Frog Barrel-Aged B.O.R.I.S. Cost is $12 for a 10 ounce snifter.

NEWS – We are sad to report that the Liquor Cabinet in Hebron, KY has closed. Those of us who live in the area will definitely miss them.

TASTINGS

Everything’s d’ Vine Tasting is at 5:30 pm each week and costs $10 for beer and wine tastings. You can get just beer or just wine for $5.00. For this week’s tasting (8/15), the beers are Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA, Upland Dragonfly IPA, Jackie O’s Firefly Amber and Hoppin’ Frog Oktoberfest.

Jungle Jim’s Eastgate – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (8/15), the beers are Rhinegeist. Pints are usually $3 (occasionally $4 or $5).

Jungle Jim’s Fairfield – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (8/15), it’s a Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Tasting. Beers include Chico King (3 Floyd’s collaboration), Maillard’s Odyssey (Bell’s collaboration), There and Back (New Glarus collaboration) and Flipside. Pints are usually $3.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

Party Town – Friday Night Flights usually features six to eight beers each week and goes from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (8/15), the beers are new beers and fall seasonals from Rivertown, Schlafly, Southern Tier, Anderson Valley among others. The regular tasting is $2.00. For $4.00, you can enjoy a pint of Founders Backstage series Dissenter Imperial IPL or a 9 oz. pour of the De Proef/Surly collaboration brew Long Of Tooth.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six delicious bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – For next week’s Rare Keg Monday, they will be tapping and releasing bottles of Blue Melvin, their Bourbon Barreled Blueberry Cream Stout that is a Quaff Bros. and Fifty West collaboration.

Jungle Jim’s Fairfield – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (8/1), the beers are from Bell’s – Hopsolution, Two Hearted, Oberon and Amber Ale. Pints are usually $3.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

Party Town – Friday Night Flights usually features six to eight beers each week and goes from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. For this week’s tasting (7/25), the beers are some of the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America collaboration beers including Chico King American Pale Ale (Three Floyds), Maillard’s Odyssey Imperial Dark (Bell’s) and There and Back Alt Route (New Glarus). Bell’s Oberon will also be on draft. The regular tasting is $2.00. The featured draft pour by the glass will be the four beers listed above. Price is $4 a pint and includes a Three Floyds pint glass.
