This time, it’s a discussion of lesser known beer styles with Chris Bistany from Taft’s Ale House.

Tuesday, August 9th at 6:00 pm – Night Marcher Tappening at Rivertown
This is the first release in their 100% Brett fermented series. Night Marcher is an Island Pale Ale brewed with jack fruit, papaya, pineapple, coconut, mandarin orange, guava, lemon & lime peel, ginger root, Jamaican allspice, fennel, saffron & toasted coriander.

Wednesday, August 10th at 6:00 pm – Short’s Brewing Beer Dinner at Moerlein Lager House

HAPPY GRAND OPENING TO DARKNESS BREWING! – While they have been open serving other breweries’ beers, this Saturday starting at 2:00 pm, you can finally enjoy a Darkness beer on draft. Live music and a taco truck too.

Ohio Hop Growers Guild Hopyard Open House – Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Check out their Facebook event page for more information.

2nd Annual Beer Olympics/strong – Saturday at Ei8ht Ball and presented by Ei8ht Ball Brewing, New Belgium, Kentucky Ale, Mad Tree and Braxton. – Signups are from noon-1pm and the Olympics are from 1:00-4:00 pm. For more information, go to their Facebook event page.

Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, it’s Revolution Brewing at both Fairfield and Eastgate.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, they are pouring TBA. It’s $2.00 for the regular sample flights. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night and they will be pouring MadTree Are You Ready for Darkness? and Barrel Aged Ye Olde Battering Ram.

Municipal Brew Works – Tapping their first seasonal today at 4:00 pm. Woltermelon Blonde Ale is their flagship Approachable Blonde infused with real watermelons. It’s their tribute to summer and to Patrick Wolterman who lost his life while doing his job as a Hamilton Fire Fighter. “His family explained to [the brewery] that Patrick became a fan of a watermelon flavored beer at a Hamilton Fire Department summer picnic.”

Rhinegeist – Lumenocity Glow Launch Party today starting at 8:00 pm.

Down the River with Upland Brewing – This two-night event starts at Cappy’s Wine and Spirits Friday night 5:00-10:00 pm with the famous Peanut from Ei8ht Ball starting the bartender swap. Then on Saturday night beginning at 12:00 noon head to Ei8ht Ball as Sara Levin from Cappy’s finishes the bartender swap. Both nights you can enjoy Thunderbird Wings from Nashville with your Upland beers.

Wiedemann’s – At the Findlay Market this weekend. Friday 4:00-8:00 pm; Saturday 11:00 am-8:00 pm; and Sunday 11:00 am-5:00 pm.

Both Cappy’s and Arnold’s will be donating $1 for every pint of Chomlungma and it’s variants on Monday. It’s a challenge so there has to be a price to pay. Whoever loses the challenge will have to wear the others T-shirts for an entire weekend this summer. What exactly will be in the Randall is up to you to help them decide. Cappy’s Wine and Spirits – Upland and Revolution Collaboration Event, Saturday from 1:00-6:00 pm. Two different collaboration beers: Revved Up Coffee Brown and Revved Up Coffee Blonde. Both will be on tap in addition to some other beers from both breweries.

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night and they are doing tapping Southern Tier Rhine Cabal. The cost is $8 for a 13 oz tulip.

Keystone Hyde Park – Spring Celebration of Bell’s Brewery today starting at 4:00 pm. Beers include Oarsman, Two Hearted, Oberon, Oatsmobile Pale Ale and a cask conditioned Amber Ale.

Marty’s Hops and Vines – Tapping Ei8ht Ball Hammock Hefeweizen Saturday at 5:00 pm and donating $1 from each pint sold to the Testicular Cancer Society.

Co-hosted by Braxton Brewing Company and the Kenton County Public Library, Books On Tap is a monthly get-together for books and beer lovers-alike. This month’s book is The Martian by Andy Weir.
