Hyde Park Cock & Bull chef, Jimmy Wilhelm will pair entrees with selected ales and bourbons from Lexington Brewing & Distilling. Menu includes warm scallop salad with apple gastrique and goat cheese paired with Kentucky Kolsch, grilled pork tenderloin with habanero apricot & braised greens paired with Kentucky Ale, pecan crusted shrimp with tasso demi glace & cheddar grits paired with Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, foie gras with crusty bread paired with Town Branch Bourbon and bacon bourbon ice cream paired with Bluegrass Sundown. Tuesday, May 1st at 7:00 pm — Goose Island Beer Dinner at Izzy’s in Florence
On the heels of their earlier Goose Island beer dinner, Izzy’s in Florence will have more selections from the Goose. Call 859-525-2333 to make reservations. The cost is $20.00 per person. That includes dinner, three full beers and a take home glass from Goose Island.
MOTR Pub is on Day 12 of their second 50/50/50 Fest where they tap a different beer each day as they work towards their slogan of “nearly 50 kegs from roughly 50 states in around 50 days”. For the inaugural event last year, they had beers from 21 states. This year, they are projecting beers from 25 states thanks to widened distribution for several breweries. They started with Red Hook (Washington) and have also featured Dogfish Head (Delaware), RJ Rockers (South Carolina), Southern Tier (New York), Flying Dog (Maryland), Epic Brewing (Utah), Laughing Dog Brewery (Idaho), Stoudt’s (Pennsylvania), The Brew Kettle (Ohio) and Otter Creek (Vermont).
