Charles Krug Wine Dinner with Peter Mondavi, Jr at Morton’s

To quote Monty Python, “and now for something completely different!” Last week, Tom and I were treated to a sneak preview tasting event for this upcoming wine dinner at Morton’s The Steakhouse. Though our tastes do tend towards beer primarily, the warm weather we’re having right now makes me want to enjoy a nice glass of chardonnay on our deck. A special part of the dinner is the auction benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Krug wine and the pairings are matched so well. We liked the crab cakes paired with the Sauvignon Blanc and the Carneros Chardonnay seemed to be the favorite wine of the evening (I know it was mine!). It went great with the salad and shrimp. We enjoyed the whole experience so much that Tom has requested we go back there in July for our anniversary. For more information on this special wine dinner, please read below. Morton’s The Steakhouse is located at 441 Vine Street in the Carew Tower in downtown Cincinnati. The restaurant is open for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:30 – 11 p.m. and Sundays from 5 – 10 p.m.
