Cincy Beerfest at Fountain Square – Sept. 7th & 8th

The folks who put on the Cincy Winter Beerfest at the Convention Center are now taking over the Fountain Square Beerfest too. This year’s fest will be Friday, September 7th from 5:00 to 11:00 pm and Saturday, September 8th from 3:00 to 11:00 pm. There will be local music and food trucks on hand.

According to Cincy Beerfest organizer Craig Johnson, the event will be held on the entire Fountain Square and a part of 5th Street this year with 150-175 taps of craft beer from both local breweries and breweries around the country. Next year, with support from attendees, they hope to expand to surrounding streets and make it the largest outdoor craft beer festival in the region.

For this particular event, all advance tickets are VIP tickets. Advance tickets are $30 each and include 25 craft beer samples, a five ounce plastic beer mug with lanyard and access to the VIP Tent wit 24 exclusive beers. If you walk up on one of the days of the event, your cost is $45 per person.

  1. I’m very disappointed this event went to the “pay a higher price for more drinks” model like the Cincy Beerfests. Sometimes I might not want to drink 125 oz of higher alcohol beer in one night. I loved how you used to be able to pay $1 per sample before so I could get a few samples and still be able to drive home. So that means we won’t be attending this year.

  2. Totally agree with you Matt. I won’t get anywhere near sampling that many beers. I can go to several local bars and be offered a ‘taste’ at no charge. This used to be a fun event.

  3. I’ve really enjoyed going to this event on Fountain Square in the past. But I didn’t go this year and never will again unless and until the $1 (or $2 for some beers) sample format is reinstated.
