Kentucky’s Darkest Day
August 21, 2017 @ 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The countdown is on to what will be a chance of a lifetime celestial event… The skies are turning dark over Kentucky and Braxton Brewing Company isn’t going to let you miss out on the excitement of Kentucky’s Darkest Day! We will be open on Monday, August 21st for a special tapping of our Dark Charge Maple 23 and a total solar eclipse viewing party.
A very limited amount of this beer was released in December of 2016. We’ve held a few kegs for special occassions. This Monday is one of them. Dark Charge is an Imperial Stout. This version was aged in very special 23-year old Bourbon barrels that then also aged Maple Syrup for an additional year. Finally, they made their way home where they aged this beer for an additional year.
The beer will be on tap all day at both locations (Covington Taproom and Braxton Labs) and we also have a limited # of Eclipse Viewing glasses to hand out!
The total solar eclipse happens early afternoon on Monday, Aug. 21. It’s the first time a total solar eclipse has crossed the United States since 1918. The full eclipse will last close to three hours with the totality happening just before 2:30pm.
Let’s #LiftOneToLife on the Darkest Day! Cheers!
