Update: Moerlein (and Ei8ht Ball) Brewers Going to Sierra Nevada Beer Camp

UPDATE (as of 2:25 pm): Thanks to the careful eyes of the folks at the Queen City Chapter of BCCA & NABA, we have learned that Ei8ht Ball is going too! The other KY breweries that will be in attendance are Against the Grain, Bluegrass Brewing (BBC), Country Boy and West Sixth. By the way, brewers had to apply before May 23rd to be a part of this event. Event organizers also work with the various breweries that don’t have distribution in the state they were assigned to legally get their beer there.

Remember when you were a kid and summer went going to camp? Now that you’ve grown up, what would be the best camp ever? Beer camp! Well, there is such a thing and the brewers of Christian Moerlein are going to get to attend it. Here’s a short video about Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America, an unprecedented traveling beer festival that will take place later this summer:

It turns out that five Ohio breweries including Christian Moerlein will be attending Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Across America’s Midwest Edition scheduled for Sunday, July 27th at Navy Pier in Chicago. The other four Ohio breweries are Lock 27, Columbus, Elevator and Main Street Grille.

Mike Wayne, general manager of Christian Moerlein had this to say about their participation in this celebration:

What an honor it is to be part of this great event! The craft beer community has come a LONG way from when I entered a decade ago.

Being active within artistic brewers is something we cherish highly and returning all of Christian Moerlein’s brewing to his American home allows us to bring the Cincinnati quality to our passion. Neat tidbit: Cincinnati has won more awards for its brewing than any other city post prohibition.

Al Sheets had a great conversation with the Enquirer during Taste of Cincinnati and who better to help Chicago taste Cincinnati? http://tinyurl.com/ocxdyfh

Christian Moerlein has enjoyed being a supporting member of the community in which we brew and that attention had another brewer ask us to be part of Beer Camp. This idea was too exciting and we had to be a part of it. Chicago is a wonderful town and a great audience for attentive beer enthusiasts.

The idea of artistic brewers coming together to celebrate our industry is a Win for everyone. Look for us in Chicago July 27th and moer involved with Cincinnati.

You can attend too. Tickets for the Midwest edition and the other dates are now available at www.SierraNevada.com/BeerCamp. Tickets are $65.00 each and a designated driver ticket is available for $30.00.

If you can’t make it to Chicago event, there are six other locations where you can attend. Appropriately, the last one is scheduled for Mills River, North Carolina otherwise known as home to Sierra Nevada’s new East Coast brewery.
