Several local breweries have announced special tappings and bottle releases for this week that we wanted to share with you.
Wednesday, August 13th at 4:00 pm at Listermann’s
From Facebook: “We have brewed a beer in memory of a fallen Bloatarian Brewing League member, Dave Collins aka King Swanky. King Swanky is a Belgian Wit (Dave’s favorite) with cherries (some of which are from his back yard). It was brewed with help and insight from professional bloats at Market Garden Brewery, Moerlein Lager House, Blank Slate Brewing Company, Five Rabbit in Chicago and our old head brewer Kevin Moreland as well as Dave’s family. Celebration and Keg tapping will be held this Wednesday at 6 pm in the tasting room.”
Wednesday, August 13th at 4:00 pm at Fifty West
Fifty West is releasing two bottles tomorrow: cellar aged Our Mom’s Advice Tripel and Biere De Garde Rail.
Thursday, August 14th at 6:00 pm at Cellar Dweller
Cellar Dweller will be tapping the next beer in their “So You Wanna Be a Brewer” series where local home brewers get to brew one of their receipt on a professional system. This time, the home brewer Ben Martin brewed a special beer in memory of his best friend since kindergarten Marine Corporal Steven Kohus. Cpl. Kohus, a Morrow, OH native and Afghanistan veteran, died in a tragic accident this year. Martin described his friend as “You might describe him as funny, caring, crazy (in a good way). But those words alone don’t do him justice; his personality was larger than life.”
The beer that Martin brewed is called Corporal Khaos and is an American Pale Ale brewed with Columbus and Citra hops. It has an ABV of 5.8% and 45 IBUs.
