Tastings and Tappings Report: Dec. 11, 2015

We frequently get updates for our Tastings and Tappings Report after our regular publishing time. Any edited listing will have UPDATE at the beginning of the listing. Don’t forget to check out our This Week in Beer post from Monday for other better beer events happening this weekend.

SPECIAL TAPPING – A cask of Brew School 100 Curve Ball Black IPA infused with vanilla and lavender at the Moerlein Lager House. A portion of the proceeds of this beer will go towards the brewing science courses at Cincinnati State. The regular version will be available on draft at both the Moerlein Lager House and the Moerlein Malt House.

TASTINGS

Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, they are pouring Dogfish Head in Fairfield and beers from MadTree in Eastgate.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, they’re pouring beers from new beers from Ballast Point, Flying Dog and Four String Brewing. For the draft by the glass pours, they’ll have Blue Stallion Resting Bitter Face Imperial IPA and New Holland Pilgram’s Dole Bourbon Barrel Aged Wheat Wine. Both will be $3.00 for a nine ounce pour. The cost for the flight is $2.00 per person. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

TAPPINGS

Braxton Brewing – Shoptalk Double IPA tapping (Collaboration with Widmer Bros.) at 7:00 pm this Saturday along with local band Wilder and Tom + Chee will be in the taproom passing out samples of Braxton’s exclusive taproom menu.

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night AND they will be tapping Rhinegeist Stryker. Pints for $5 for a ten ounce snifter.

“To celebrate the arrival of Cincinnati’s second streetcar, the Moerlein Lager House will be releasing its newest beer—a hoppy red ale named ‘Desire’. Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 6:00 pm – Belukus Import Beer Tasting at Marty’s Hops & Vines
Five imported beers from the Belukus portfolio: C Wells Banana Bread Beer, C Wells Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale, Youngs Double Chocolate Stout, Blanche de Bruxelles and McEwan’s Scotch Ale. They will also be pouring blends of these beers.

Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 6:00 pm – Barrel Aged Code 3 Tapping at Old Firehouse Brewery
Plus they will be auctioning off four of their tankard hooks. One per hour starting at 7:00 pm.

Wednesday, Nov. 25th from 9:00 pm – Hudepohl Downtown Hoedown at Arnold’s Bar & Grill
In addition to live old-time music and professional square dancers, Arnold’s will have “$2 Drafts of Hudepohl Pure Lager all night. Hudy reps will also be in the building handing out tons of free swag including Pint Glasses and T-shirts. Also at 9pm they will be tapping two extremely hard to get a hold of Kegs from Christian Moerlein. The first is their famed 11/162 Bourbon Barrel Ale. Possibly the last of it available anywhere in the city. The second is a Keg of their Shiver Chai Porter, to which only an extremely limited number of barrels were made.”

Tastings and Tappings Report: Oct. 2, 2015

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERASIA! Their anniversary party is tomorrow (10/3) and you can check out their Facebook event page for more information.

TASTINGS

Everything’s d’ Vine – Sadly, Everything’s d’ Vine will be closing by the end of October.

Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, they are pouring beers from Bell’s in Fairfield and 5 Rabbit Cerveceria with Randy Mosher in attendance in Eastgate.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

UPDATEParty Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, it’s beers from Three Floyds, Founders, Ommegang, Dogfish Head, 450 North, Rogue and Christian Moerlein. The featured draft by the glass pour will be Mad Tree Galaxy High with Mad Tree glassware for $4.00. . The cost for the flight is $2.00 per person. A nine ounce pour is $3. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

TAPPINGS

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night AND they will be tapping TBA. The cost is $? for a ten ounce snifter.
