You read that right. Not one, not two, but three locations where you can get better beer are coming to Northern Kentucky.
1. Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers (Wilder, KY): You may have already read about this one in the Enquirer or on NKY.com. Before this, the closest Mellow Mushroom has been in Lexington and many UK alums are excited to see one of their favorites move closer to home. Some of the beers listed on their corporate web site include Abita, Red Brick, Bell’s, Coopers, Dogfish Head, Rogue, Pisgah (one of my favorites!), Stone and Sweet Water.
2. Hebron Brew Haus (Hebron, KY): If you are a long time reader of Hoperatives, you know that we were so happy when the old Hebron Brewing Company opened and so very sad when they suddenly closed. So we were cautiously optimistic when we heard that something new was happy at the old HBC location. Hebron Brew Haus opens tomorrow (4/22) and, according to their web site and Facebook page, the tap list will include Mt Carmel, Alltech Kentucky Ale, Rivertown Helles Lager, Sam Adams and they will also have some bottled local beers too.
3. Vintage Wine Bar – Kitchen – Market (Hebron, KY): While this one may not seem like a better bar location at first glance, Polly Campbell’s article in the Cincinnati Enquirer points out that in addition to “a retail market, a wine bar, and a wine-oriented restaurant”, Vintage Wine Bar will also carry craft beer in their market section. In case you’re wondering, Vintage Wine Bar is going into the location where Buffalo Bob’s was most recently.
Cheers and here’s to better beer!
