Tastings and Tappings Report: April 14, 2017

SPECIAL EVENTS

KungFood Chu’s AmerAsia – Beer-Lingual Saturday starting at 2:00 pm. From their Facebook Event page: “We are hosting a block party in the parking lot next to AmerAsia at 521 Madison Ave. from 2:00-6:00. Breweries, including Madtree, Rhinegeist, Braxton, Urban Artifact, West Sixth, and New Belgium will be serving beer, with a few vendors represented as well as live music, a DJ, food, and games. We’re also holding a raffle for beer baskets. All proceeds from these tickets will be donated as well as 10% of the sales total for the night at the restaurant. After the outdoor event, we’ll be having a tap takeover at 4:00 inside with some really awesome beer by Three Floyds, Prairie Artisan Ales, and Evil Twin Brewing. We’ll be donating all proceeds from the event to the English Language Learning Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that’s been giving back to immigrants in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky since 2006.”

New Riff Distilling – Holler: Celebrate Kentucky’s Finest Craft Beer and Spirits Saturday at 6:00 pm. For more information, check out their website at http://hollerfestival.com/.

Wooden Cask Brewery – Adult Easter Egg Hunt Sunday starting at 2:00 pm. From their Facebook page: “We will open a little bit later on Easter Sunday. To celebrate we will have an adult Easter egg “hunt”. Select an egg from our basket and see what surprise awaits you inside. It could be a $3 pint pour or a $5 flight! Maybe a free empty pint glass to take home! Must be 21 or over to partake. Limit 1 egg per person. We will also have another basket of eggs with candy for those with kiddos in tow. ”

TASTINGS, TOURS and DINNERS

Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, they are pouring beers from Alltech Lexington Brewing at Fairfield and from Old Firehouse at Eastgate.

OTR Biergarten – Featuring beers from Bad Tom Smith Brewing this weekend. They will be pouring Breathitt County Blonde Ale and Fink Red Rye. The April Biergarten hours are Saturday, 11am-6pm and Sunday, 11am-4 pm.

Party Source – $1 beer tastings on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, they’re pouring from TBA. It’s $2.00 for the regular sample flights. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

TAPPINGS, PINT NIGHTS and RELEASES

BC’s Bottle Lodge – Fifty West Brewing Tap Takeover Friday at 6:00 pm.

Braxton Brewing – Kentucky Home Bottle Release and Tapping Saturday at noon. You can reserve your bottle (up to 3/person) online now: https://store.braxtonbrewing.com/products/kentuckyhome Bottles that are not reserved will be released to the public on Saturday, April 15th at noon. Limit 3 per person.

Cappy’s Wine and Spirits – Local Friday featuring Cellar Dweller starting at 5:00 pm. Beers include Grapefruit Jeremiah’s, Nitro Eye Opener, and BBA Vanilla Brown.

Wednesday, March 22nd at 7:00 pm – Bell’s Oberon Pint Night at Hebron Brew Haus

Thursday, March 23rd from 5:00-7:00 pm – Christian Moerlein Tasting at Delhi Liquor
Beers include Thirteen/164 (bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with cherries), FC Blood Orange IPA, Strawberry Pig cream ale, Third Wave IPA, OTR Ale, and Pacer Citra Pale ale.

Thursday, March 23rd from 5:00-10:00 pm – Oskar Blues Pint Night at Cappy’s Wines and Spirits
Beers include Pinner, Dale’s Pale Ale, Deviant Dale’s, Mama’s Yella Pils, Priscilla, Florida Simcoe, Dry Hopped Centennial Dale’s, Ten Fidy, Barrel Aged Ten Fidy, IPA, Beerito, and Old Chub. Also a limited number of BA Old Chub will be available.

Thursday, March 23rd at 6:00 pm – Old Firehouse Brewery Night at Butterbee’s American Grille
Beers include Code 3 Red Ale, Pin Up Girl Blonde Ale, and Flashpoint Barrel Aged.

Thursday, March 23rd at 6:00-10:00 pm – Pint Night Thursdays at Cock & Bull (all three locations)
The beers for this week’s Pint Night Thursdays are: Main Strasse Covington – Belhaven, Glendale – TBA and Hyde Park – MadTree Sprye.

Thursday, March 23rd at 7:00 pm – Braxton Storm the Court Pint Night at the Pub at Crestview Hills

From Facebook: “Let’s Celebrate Strong Women of Cincinnati!!! On National Women’s Day we will be releasing our Hibiscus ? Rose Hipped Saison! Because the inspiration behind this project was a Strong Female firefighter, well we couldn’t release it without a HUGE party, celebrating all strong women of this amazing city! All while pairing up with Women Helping Women, donating a portion of the proceeds back to them. We will have live music at 7:00 from Coconut Milk, Food Trucks, and a raffling off amazing items from Cincinnati restaurants, spas, brewery swag, and candles from the Candle Lab!!! Wednesday, March 8th at 6:00 pm – Perrin No Rules Beer Tasting at Marty’s Hops and Vines
They will be tapping Perrin Brewing Company’s No Rules Vietnamese Porter and Lil Griz Barrel Aged Brown Ale. They will also pouring Grapefruit IPA and Black from cans. All four 5 oz pours for $12.

Thursday, March 9th at 6:00 pm – MadTree TapTakeover at KungFood Chu’s AmerAsia
Beers include PsycHOPathy, Lift, Happy Amber, Axis Mundi, Experimental Pale Ale (Mosiac, Apollo, Amarillo), Passionfruit tart ale, Galaxy High, Citra High, Dead Flowers and UnHappy Amber.

Thursday, March 9th from 5:00-10:00 pm – Listermann Pint Night Pac Vs. Biggie at Cappy’s Wines and Spirits

Thursday, March 9th at 6:00-9:00 pm – Avery Pint Night at BC’s Bottle Lodge
Beers include White Rascal, Maharaja IIPA, Apricot Sour and a surprise keg.

Thursday, Oct. 1st at 5:00 pm – Fi8ht Like A Girl Pink IPA Tapping at Ei8ht Ball Brewing
They will donate $1 of every glass, grumble and growler sold in the month of October to the Pink Ribbon Girls Foundation. Twenty three other local bars and restaurants will also be tapping Fi8ht Like a Girl throughout the month and giving back to Pink Ribbon Girls in various ways.

Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 4:00 pm – AmerAsia’s 7th Anniversary Party
Fifty custom made stainless-steel beer mugs for the 1st 50 people with a purchase (1 per person). Beers for the party include Moerlein Vanilla coffee Helltown Rye-OT, Moerlein Barley Rhine, MadTree Blood Orange PsycHopathy, MadTree Pumpcan, Rhinegeist Five Spice Spike, Rhinegeist Truth and Braxton October Fuel.

Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 4:00 pm – Westwood Works Pop-Up Beer Garden
Featuring Rhinegeist beer and Catch-a-Fire Pizza.

Beers include Storm Golden Cream Ale, Sparky Hoppy Wheat Ale, Crank Shaft India Pale Ale and Dead Blow Stout infused with coffee.

Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 6:00 pm – William Howard Taft / Cincy Red Bike Dual Birthday Bash at Taft’s Ale House
They will be tapping their Red Bike Beer, a low alcohol Zwickel beer. Order a Red Bike Beer and get the special glass with your first one (while supplies last).

Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 5:30 pm – Braxton Launch Party at the Growler House

Wednesday, Sept. 16th from 6:00-9:00 pm – Tieton Cider Tasting at Marty’s Hops & Vines
They will be pouring Rambling Route, Cherry, Apricot, Dry-hopped, and Smoked pumpkin ciders.

Thursday, Sept. 17th at 4:00 pm – Imperial Thursday at KungFood Chu’s AmerAsia
Six imperial IPAs on draft including Dogfish Head IPA and Rhinegeist Saber tooth Tiger.

Thursday, Sept. 17th at 5:00-8:00 pm – Brooklyn Brewery Tap Takeover at Market Wines
They will have Black Chocolate Stout, Wild Horse Porter and Red Sumac Wit on Draft and bombers of Intensified Barrel-Aged Coffee Porter.

Thursday, Sept. 17th at 6:00 pm – West Sixth Pint Night at Hebron Brew Haus
Featuring West Sixth IPA, Wild PItch and Oktoberfest.

Thursday, Sept. 17th at 6:00-10:00 pm – Pint Night Thursdays at Cock & Bull (all three locations)
