Old Firehouse Brewery’s 3rd Anniversary Party

Join us to help celebrate our 3rd Anniversary!
Limited Release specialty brews will be available for the day as well as all of our year round brews and select seasonals.
Street Party activities will include Hippity Hop Ball Races, Keg Water Wars, Tug of War, Corn Hole, Beer Goggle Slalom and for the little ones, a Bounce House. All proceeds raised from the activities will be donated to the Williamsburg Fire and Police departments.
There will also be two hook auctions and fill the boot to rasie money for the Patriot Pin Up Girls.
Food trucks will be on site for the event.

This Extended Weekend in Beer: Sept. 6 – 10, 2017

As we mentioned previously, the last few months have been crazy at Casa de Hoperatives and this current week is the craziest one yet. But, by Saturday, Carla’s dad (Hoperative #169) will be the newest resident of Florence, KY and things should hopefully calm down a bit. SPECIAL EVENTS

KungFood Chu’s AmerAsia – Beer-Lingual Saturday starting at 2:00 pm. From their Facebook Event page: “We are hosting a block party in the parking lot next to AmerAsia at 521 Madison Ave. from 2:00-6:00. Breweries, including Madtree, Rhinegeist, Braxton, Urban Artifact, West Sixth, and New Belgium will be serving beer, with a few vendors represented as well as live music, a DJ, food, and games. We’re also holding a raffle for beer baskets. All proceeds from these tickets will be donated as well as 10% of the sales total for the night at the restaurant. After the outdoor event, we’ll be having a tap takeover at 4:00 inside with some really awesome beer by Three Floyds, Prairie Artisan Ales, and Evil Twin Brewing. We’ll be donating all proceeds from the event to the English Language Learning Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that’s been giving back to immigrants in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky since 2006.”

New Riff Distilling – Holler: Celebrate Kentucky’s Finest Craft Beer and Spirits Saturday at 6:00 pm. For more information, check out their website at http://hollerfestival.com/.

Wooden Cask Brewery – Adult Easter Egg Hunt Sunday starting at 2:00 pm. From their Facebook page: “We will open a little bit later on Easter Sunday. To celebrate we will have an adult Easter egg “hunt”. Select an egg from our basket and see what surprise awaits you inside. It could be a $3 pint pour or a $5 flight! Maybe a free empty pint glass to take home! Must be 21 or over to partake. Limit 1 egg per person. We will also have another basket of eggs with candy for those with kiddos in tow. ”

Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, they are pouring beers from Alltech Lexington Brewing at Fairfield and from Old Firehouse at Eastgate.

OTR Biergarten – Featuring beers from Bad Tom Smith Brewing this weekend. They will be pouring Breathitt County Blonde Ale and Fink Red Rye. The April Biergarten hours are Saturday, 11am-6pm and Sunday, 11am-4 pm.

Party Source – $1 beer tastings on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, they’re pouring from TBA. It’s $2.00 for the regular sample flights. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

Braxton Brewing – Dead Blow Can Release Friday at 5:00 pm. Includes live music from Queen City Silver Stars, a Dead Blow inspired menu from Empanadas Aqui, a tropical-themed Firkin infusion and “a few other surprises along the way.”

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night and they will be pouring TBA

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night and they will be pouring De Struise including Black Albert, Blue Monk, 2013 Tsjeeses Reserva and Quaff Bros. Space Taxi. In addition, Urbain Coutteau, Brewmaster and Owner of the famous Belgian Brewery De Struise, will be joining in via Skype. Scott LaFollette of Blank Slate will also be in attendance.

Rhinegeist – Saber Tooth Tiger-Release the Beast Release Party – Doors open at 12:00 noon on Saturday. Bombers will be for sale out of the tap room for $10 each. There is a limit of two per person, while supplies lasts. Other beers to be tapped throughout the day include

Saturday, June 25th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm – Rivertown Beers and Brunch at Marty’s Hops & Vines
Menu: 1st course – “Enhanced Melons” Nice Melons Watermelon Berliner weiss with mint, berries, and a salted rim paired with Spicy watermelon gazpacho; 2nd course – Death Bloody Mary featuring Death Russian Imperial Stout brewed with ghost peppers in a house-made mixer paired with Italian frittata with sausage, goat cheese, onion, and spinach; 3rd course – Brennan’s BuckNut Brew, a Chocolate Peanut Butter stout paired with Bananas Foster French Toast. Tastings and Tappings Report: May 27, 2016

We frequently get updates for our Tastings and Tappings Report after our regular publishing time. Any edited listing will have UPDATE at the beginning of the listing. Don’t forget to check out our This Week in Beer post from Monday for other better beer events happening this weekend.

TASTINGS

Country Fresh Farm Market and Wine Depot – Brooklyn Brewery tasting today from 4:00-7:00 pm. Beers include Summer Ale, American Ale and two more to be determined.

Jungle Jim’s – Friday night tasting from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at both locations. Pints are usually $3. This week, they are pouring beers from Sixpoint at Fairfield and from Goodwood at Eastgate.

Ludlow Wines – Saturday beer tasting is from 5:00-8:00 pm. The cost to taste four beers is $6.00 per person.

Party Source – $1 beer tastings on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 pm.

Party Town – For Friday Night Flights this week from 5:30-7:00 pm, they’re pouring from Rhinegeist. Beers include Truth, Puma, Cidergeist, Cougar, Hustle, Fluxion, Panda, Badger, Exp IPA 004, EXP IPA 005, Mushhushshu. It’s $2.00 for the regular sample flights. Only adults age 21 or more are admitted for Friday Night Flights. Limit of one sample per person. No shopping carts in the back room please.

Whole Foods Cincinnati – Cask & Cork: Beer and Wine every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. For $5, you get five sips and six bites. Tickets sold until 6:30 pm.

TAPPINGS and RELEASES

Braxton Brewing – May’s Firkin Friday tonight at 5:30 pm and it’s a Banana Split. That’s their Haven Hefeweizen with cocoa, strawberry and pineapple.

Ei8ht Ball Brewing – Tonight is Free Bacon Night and they will be having a special Lervig Tap Takeover and Skype session with Lervig’s brewmaster Mike Murphy. Beers include Jack Daniels BA Barleywine, Belgian Saison, Pop That Cherry Lambic (collaboration w/ Mikkeller), Saured Kraut Mango and Pineapple infused Sour, Redchurch Softly Softly Oud Bruin. The Skype session starts at 5:30 pm.

Listermann Brewing – Cincinnati Beer Week Collaboration Bottle Release tonight starting at 5:00 pm. From Facebook: “We have teamed up with Urban Artifact, MadTree Brewing and DogBerry Brewing LLC for our version of the CIncinnati Beer Week Collaboration beer, Over/Under. This beer is an amber lager brewed with Mulberry Wood. While there will be 5 Cincinnati Beer Week Beers available this year, this will be the only one in bottles. The beer will be on draft Friday Night Only and then again during beer week. 4 Packs are $9.99”

Nashville Hot – Christian Moerlein Tap Takeover tonight starting at 7:00 pm. Buy a pint, keep the glass.

OTHER

Old Firehouse Brewery – Pints for Pups Saturday from 4:00-8:00 pm. The brewery will be donating $1 from every pint sold during that time to Circle Tails, Inc.
