Keg Day at Yard House at the Banks

Today marked the day that the new Yard House at the Banks loaded in all of their beer (and wine and liquor) ahead of their March 24th opening. There are many reasons for doing this almost two weeks in advance. One of the main reasons is the sheer amount of time it is going to take to connect over 125 kegs to the Yard House taps. If you have a home kegerator, imagine multiplying the process of hooking up a new keg by 125.

Yard House Opening Banner

Keg Day is a major celebration at each new Yard House. Below you can see one of the commemorative shirts the folks unloading the trucks were wearing this morning. The words at the bottom are “Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.”

Yard House Shirt

They started unloading trucks at 6:30 am and hoped to be done by 10:00. This entire Ohio Valley truck was for Yard House and included beers from Great Lakes, Sam Adams and Uinta. Yard House will also be carrying many local beers like Mt. Carmel, Rivertown and Christian Moerlein. Almost 250 kegs will be unloaded and wheeled into this new location by the time you read this post as well as 700 bottles of spirits and 56 cases of wine.
