“The public determines who moves on after this Sunday’s Battle of the Beers event” explains event organizer Chris Ashwell. The 8 bestselling breweries will advance to the next round on July 6th. Of those 8, the final four breweries will contend for the Firehouse Cup on August 24th.
From June through August of this year, the Firehouse Grill in Mason will be hosting their 2nd Annual Battle of the Local Beers. You may remember their first event last August. This year, the battle of the brews will be held expanded to cover three days (June 8th, July 6th and August 24th).
In all, sixteen local breweries will present 32 beers. Those breweries include Bad Tom, Blank Slate, Cellar Dweller, Christian Moerlein, Ei8ht Ball, Fifty West, Jackie O’s, Listermann, MadTree, Mt. Carmel, Rhinegeist, Rivertown, Triple Digit, Warped Wing, West Sixth and Yellow Springs.
On the first night of the battle (June 8th), each brewery will enter two beers of their choosing. The public will vote for their favorite simply by making a beer purchase. Only the top eight breweries will advance once the beer sales are tallied. Then, the elite eight breweries will bring three of their beers each on July 6th. The final four contenders bring four brews each to the final match-up on August 24th. One brewery will be crowned with the Firehouse Cup.
Each night of the battle, the brewers will be on hand to chat and answer your questions and there will be live music on the patio (weather permitting). Stay by and cast your vote by buying your favorite beer (or beers).
